Wilhelmina Barns-Graham was a Scottish painter who trained at Edinburgh College of Art and moved to St Ives in 1940. She was a founder member of the Penwith Society and a leading figure among the St Ives abstract painters. Her glacier paintings, begun after a trip to Switzerland in 1949, became a long series. She divided her later life between St Ives and St Andrews.
