Sian Bonnell is a photographic artist whose pictures place ordinary household objects out of context in rural and coastal landscapes, mixing sculpture, performance and humour. She studied sculpture at Chelsea School of Art and took an MA in fine art at Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic, and later a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she was Reader in Photography. Her books include Everyday Dada and Wilful Amateur, and her prints are held by the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In 1999 she founded TRACE, a curating, publishing and mentoring project. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society.
