Sagarika Sundaram

Felt sculpture and installation

Born
1986, Kolkata, India

Sagarika Sundaram is a New York-based textile artist who makes large sculptures, reliefs and installations from felt she makes herself from raw wool and natural dyes. She grew up between India and Dubai, studied at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, and took an MFA at Parsons in 2020. She builds each work from back to front and then cuts it open to reveal the colours inside, a method she found while living in London. She is represented by Alison Jacques, and the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds gave her a solo show in 2026.
