Peter Beard was a New York photographer, artist and diarist who spent much of his life in Kenya. His book The End of the Game recorded the mass death of elephants in Tsavo National Park. He filled diaries and prints with photographs, drawings, collage and ink, sometimes using his own blood. He went missing from his home at Montauk in 2020 and was found dead some weeks later.
