Patrick Caulfield was an English painter and printmaker from London who studied at Chelsea and the Royal College of Art. His interiors and still lifes, drawn in flat colour with black outlines, sometimes include a single passage painted in photographic detail. He was linked with Pop Art in the 1960s, though he disliked the label, and was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1987. Tate holds After Lunch and many of his prints.
