Olafur Eliasson is an Icelandic and Danish artist, born in Copenhagen, who runs a large studio in Berlin. His installations use light, water, fog, mirrors and temperature to make people aware of how they see and feel their surroundings. The Weather Project, a huge glowing sun in a haze in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall in 2003, drew more than two million visitors. Other works include New York City Waterfalls and Ice Watch, blocks of glacial ice left to melt outside Tate Modern in 2018.
