Nic Rawling co-founded The Paper Cinema in 2004 with Imogen Charleston and Christopher Reed. The company makes live animated films: his pen and ink drawings are cut out and moved by hand in front of a video camera, projected on a big screen and played with a live score. Its touring shows include The Odyssey (2012) and Macbeth (2018). Birds, Stars and Circles, at Walford Mill Crafts, shows the drawings behind the work.
