Monika Sosnowska is a Polish artist, born in Ryki in 1972, who lives and works in Warsaw. She makes large sculptures and installations from the materials of modernist and post-war architecture, such as steel rebar, concrete and stair rails, bent, crushed and folded so that buildings seem to collapse or come alive. Her disorienting rooms and corridors play with the way architecture shapes the people inside it. She represented Poland at the Venice Biennale in 2007.
