Margo Maeckelberghe was born Margaret Try in Penzance and spent most of her life there. She trained at Penzance School of Art and at the Bath Academy of Art at Corsham. Her paintings of the Cornish coast and moors range between landscape and abstraction, and she chaired the Penwith Society of Arts in the 1990s. She became a Cornish Bard in 1997, and Tate St Ives showed her work in 2008.
