Louise Giovanelli is a British painter, born in London in 1993, who lives and works in Manchester. She studied at the Manchester School of Art and the Städelschule in Frankfurt. Her paintings, built up in thin glazes, take details from film stills, stage curtains and lit faces and make them glow, recalling the gold of religious painting. She is part of British Art Show 10, and her exhibition In the Light of False Suns is at White Cube.
