Kristen McClarty is a printmaker in Cape Town who works mainly in woodcut, building images by carving away. Her recent prints centre on a stretch of the South Atlantic coast below Slangkop Mountain and the shadows that sunrise throws across its rocks, printed by hand on Japanese hemp. She is a member of the South African collective The Printing Girls and was elected to the Royal Society of Printmakers in 2025. Circle Contemporary shows her new work.
