Kathrin Böhm was born in 1969 and works in and beyond the art world. Her practice is built on collaboration and on making culture together with people in everyday settings such as businesses, villages and city neighbourhoods. It rests on the idea of cultural democracy, with art seen as one kind of cultural production, important but not special. Since the mid 1990s she has widened the scope of socially engaged practice, co-producing organisational, spatial, visual and economic projects.
