Judy Chicago is an American artist, author and teacher, born Judith Cohen in Chicago, who founded the first feminist art programme in the United States in 1970. Her best-known work, The Dinner Party, is a triangular table laid with 39 place settings for women from history, made with hundreds of needleworkers and ceramicists between 1974 and 1979. It is permanently installed at the Brooklyn Museum. Her later projects include the Birth Project and the Holocaust Project, and the Serpentine in London showed her work in 2019.
