James Holland was an illustrator and designer from Gillingham who trained at Rochester School of Art and the Royal College of Art. With James Boswell and James Fitton he was one of the three Jameses who drew anti-fascist and anti-war cartoons for Left Review, and he was among the founders of the Artists’ International Association. He worked on exhibition design for the Ministry of Information in the war. He was later part of the team that planned the Festival of Britain.
