Helen Simmonds trained in sculpture at Bath Academy of Art and set up her first painting studio near Corsham after graduating. She lives near the North Wiltshire Downs and paints small, slow still lifes of ceramics, bottles, enamelware, fruit and flowers, always from life and in natural light. Her work has often been compared with Morandi’s, and she won the Public Choice Award at the RWA Autumn Exhibition in 2011. She shows with Beaux Arts Bath.
