Hayal Pozanti is a Turkish-American artist, born in Istanbul in 1983 and based in the United States. She became known internationally in the early 2010s for bright abstract paintings built from geometric forms, which follow a hieroglyphic alphabet she invented herself. The alphabet was a way of thinking about the relationship between human behaviour, artificial intelligence and technology. Since 2021 her paintings have opened out into swirling, richly coloured abstract landscapes that suggest nature and the movement of the subconscious. Her work is held in museum collections in several countries.
