Hamish Fulton is an English artist who calls himself a walking artist: each work begins with a walk, often of many days, in places from the Cairngorms to the Himalaya. He studied at St Martin’s School of Art alongside Richard Long. The walks are recorded in photographs with text, and in wall paintings of words and numbers that name the route and its distance. Tate holds a number of his works.
