Filippino Lippi was a Florentine painter, the son of Fra Filippo Lippi, trained with Botticelli. He completed Masaccio’s frescoes in the Brancacci Chapel and painted the fanciful, crowded fresco cycles of the Carafa Chapel in Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome and the Strozzi Chapel in Santa Maria Novella. His Vision of Saint Bernard is in the Badia Fiorentina. The National Gallery in London has his Adoration of the Kings and The Virgin and Child with Saint Jerome and Saint Dominic.
