Emily Young is a British sculptor who carves large heads and forms in stone, leaving much of each block’s natural surface intact, and she has been called Britain’s greatest living stone sculptor. Born in London, she studied briefly at Chelsea School of Art and at Saint Martin’s School of Art. Her public works include Lunar Disc I at Salisbury Cathedral, Warrior Poet at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Angel series in Paternoster Square. She is a granddaughter of the sculptor Kathleen Scott and divides her time between studios in London and Italy.
