Elisabeth Frink was a Suffolk-born sculptor whose rough-surfaced bronzes of men, horses, birds and dogs made her one of the best-known British sculptors of her time. She studied at Guildford and Chelsea and lived in France in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In 1976 she moved to Woolland in Dorset, where she worked until her death in 1993, and her figures stand in many public places, including Salisbury Cathedral Close. She was made a Dame in 1982.
