Duncan Campbell is an Irish video artist, born in Dublin in 1972, who lives and works in Glasgow. His films take a single subject from recent history, such as the car maker John DeLorean or the Northern Irish activist Bernadette Devlin, and mix archive footage with new material to question how documentary tells stories. He won the Turner Prize in 2014 with It for Others, a film that responds to Chris Marker and Alain Resnais’s Statues Also Die. He represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale in 2013.
