David Alfaro Siqueiros was a Mexican painter, soldier and communist and one of the three great Mexican muralists with Rivera and Orozco. He experimented with industrial paints, airbrushes and photography to make dynamic murals for public buildings, and ran a workshop in New York in 1936 that the young Jackson Pollock attended. He was involved in an attempt on the life of Leon Trotsky in 1940 and spent years in prison for his politics. His largest work is The March of Humanity at the Polyforum Cultural Siqueiros in Mexico City.
