Chitra Ganesh

Chitra Ganesh is an American artist, born in Brooklyn, New York in 1975, where she still lives and works. Her drawings, digital collages, animations, installations and wall murals borrow from Hindu and Buddhist myth, Indian comic books, science fiction and anime to tell feminist and queer stories. She often reworks the look of the Amar Chitra Katha comics she read as a child. Her exhibition Journey to the Great Below is at BALTIC in Gateshead.
