Caroline Achaintre was born in Toulouse in 1969 and lives and works in London. She is a mixed media artist whose work draws on animism, expressionism, theatricality and the handmade. She is known for hand-tufted wall hangings and glazed ceramic masks, in which the human and the animal blur into one another.
