Candace Bahouth is an American-born artist known for tapestry portraits, needlepoint designs and mosaics made from broken china and found objects. Born in New York, she studied fine art at Syracuse University and moved to a converted church in Pilton, Somerset, in the early 1970s. Her tapestry portraits of the 1970s included Gilbert and George and a Radio Times cover for the Silver Jubilee, and her punk pieces of 1980 are in the V&A. In Somerset her work has included a niche piece for Wells Art Contemporary at Wells Cathedral, and she has been to every Glastonbury Festival since moving to Pilton.
