Antony Gormley is a British sculptor from London whose work mostly takes the human body, very often casts of his own, as its subject. His best-known public works are the Angel of the North at Gateshead and Another Place, a hundred iron figures on Crosby Beach near Liverpool. Event Horizon placed figures on rooftops in London and New York, and Field for the British Isles filled a room with tens of thousands of small clay figures. He won the Turner Prize in 1994.
