Anders Zorn was born in Mora, in the Swedish province of Dalarna, and studied in Stockholm before working in London, Spain and Paris. He became one of Sweden’s most celebrated artists, admired for his brilliant watercolours, his oil portraits of wealthy sitters in Europe and America, including three American presidents, and his etchings. At home in Mora he painted the people, customs and landscapes of Dalarna, such as Midsummer Dance, and nudes bathing out of doors. His home and the Zorn Museum in Mora are open to visitors.
