Louis Comfort Tiffany was an American artist and designer, the son of the founder of Tiffany & Co., who began as a painter and turned to the decorative arts. He developed iridescent Favrile glass and made stained glass windows, mosaics and the leaded glass lamps that bear his name, often with patterns of flowers and dragonflies. His studios decorated interiors including rooms in the White House. He was the leading American designer of Art Nouveau.
