Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter, best known for vivid self-portraits drawing on Mexican folk art, which dealt with her identity, her body and her pain. Polio in childhood and a bus accident at 18 left her with lifelong injuries, and she began painting while recovering in bed. She was married twice to the muralist Diego Rivera, and her home in Coyoacán, the Blue House, is now the Frida Kahlo Museum. Her works include The Two Fridas and Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird.
